You have a live business, product, service, platform, creative project or social-impact initiative. You have started. You have made progress. Perhaps you already have customers, users, early revenue or evidence that your idea works. But building the thing is only one part of the work. You also need to know how to position it for funding, communicate its value, attract the right opportunities and become visible to the people who can help it grow. That is what The Builders Conference is designed to help you do. On Saturday, 3 October 2026, 50 founders, business owners, creatives, operators and ecosystem builders will gather in Lagos for a practical day focused on funding readiness and strategic visibility. This is not a conference where you spend the entire day listening to speeches and leave with pages of notes but no clear next step. You will learn, ask questions, meet advisors, work through your priorities and leave with a written plan for the next 90 days. Why we created this conference After The Builders Room 1.0, two needs came up repeatedly among the builders in the room: How do I access the funding I need to grow? How do I get the right people to see what I am building? What you will experience 1. Funding conversations grounded in reality You will learn from people with practical experience raising, providing or advising businesses on funding. The sessions will help you understand: What different funders look for The funding options that may suit different stages of growth How to explain what the money is for What makes a business or project more funding-ready Common gaps that weaken otherwise promising opportunities What you may need to strengthen before approaching funders The conference does not promise instant investment or guaranteed funding. It will help you become clearer about what you need, more prepared to pursue it and more credible when the right opportunity appears. 2. Visibility that supports your actual goals Visibility is not simply about posting more frequently or gathering followers. The right visibility can help you attract customers, earn trust, secure partnerships, access opportunities and become known for the problem you solve. You will learn how to communicate what you are building more clearly, identify the people who need to see it and create a focused visibility plan connected to your business or project goals. 3. Rotating Advisory Rounds You will participate in small-group conversations with funding and visibility advisors. Instead of one general question-and-answer session, the rotating format gives you access to multiple perspectives during the day. You can bring questions about what you are currently building, learn from the questions raised by other attendees and receive practical guidance from people with relevant experience. These are facilitated small-group sessions, not private consulting appointments. The format is designed to ensure that every person at the table can participate and benefit from the conversation. 4. A written 90-day plan You will not leave the conference with inspiration alone. Using The Builders Conference workbook, you will develop: A written 90-day funding plan A written 90-day visibility plan Clear priorities for the next stage of your work Specific actions you can begin implementing after the conference A clearer understanding of the gaps you need to address The purpose of the workbook is to help you translate what you learn into decisions and actions that are relevant to what you are building. 5. A room of people who are also building The conference brings together people across business, technology, media, the creative industries, social impact, agriculture, finance, education, healthcare and other sectors. You will meet people who understand the uncertainty, responsibility and persistence involved in taking something from an idea to reality. You may find a collaborator, customer, connector, advisor or peer. At the very least, you will spend the day in a room where you do not have to explain why what you are building matters. 6. A commitment to your future self At the conference, you will write a sealed letter to your future self. In it, you will record the decisions you made, the commitments you are taking forward and what you intend to accomplish over the next 90 days. The letter will be returned to you after 90 days as a personal reminder of what you said you would build.
