Event details
A Quiet Monday is a tense short film about two siblings in southeastern Nigeria whose struggle to survive is disrupted by a community mandate they never chose. As everyday life begins to unravel, their relationship becomes the only refuge they have. At this month's Mangrove Film Session, we will use the film as a starting point to reflect on how political action shapes ordinary lives. We will discuss the tensions between collective action and individual survival, and consider how communities balance shared responsibility with personal freedom. Join us for an evening of film and thoughtful conversation. The screening will be followed by a conversation with filmmaker Lanre Olupona, a Fellow of The Sahara Centre. Free to attend. Registration is required. Please reserve your ticket. Date: Saturday, 25 July Time: Doors open: 3:30 PM | Film screening: 4:00 PM Venue: INDIGO, Costain, Lagos Come for the conversation. Stay for the connections.
