“record found here.” 🎞️ from the mind of researcher, scholar, filmmaker, and soho theatre writers lab alumna, lanaire aderemi (phd), comes a poignant cinematic exploration of reclaimed nigerian history. what started as a personal story told by her grandmother about the egba women’s revolt, which shook colonial foundations in 1940s Abeokuta, blossomed into a dedicated journey. by tracing archival documents, walking historical sites, and gathering rare oral testimonies, she captured the raw, imaginative, and revolutionary spirit of these unforgettable women. the result is ‘record found here’—a moving tribute that was recently shortlisted for ‘best short’ at the film africa festival. and we are thrilled to host a special screening of this vital piece. ✨ join lanaire (however virtually this time 😊) and a vibrant creative community for the screening and an interactive session. 🏢 venue: keyàrá lagos, Ikoyi, lagos 🗓️ date: sat, 25th of july 🕒 time: 6pm 📣 exact address will be in ticket confirmation email. 📝 space is limited, so secure a spot by getting a ticket asap 😊
