In the Room Where It Happens is an original contemporary stage production created and directed by Adedapo Treasure and presented by Fàdákà. Combining poetic realism, intimate confession, humour, and transformative performance, the play follows a constellation of interconnected characters whose stories of love, loss, faith, survival, memory, and identity gradually converge. Set across a series of literal and metaphorical “rooms” — from family homes and places of worship to bustling celebrations and private spaces of memory — the production examines the truths we inherit, the silences we protect, and the moments that define who we become. Through multiple characters embodied by a minimal cast, In the Room Where It Happens invites audiences into an emotionally rich journey that is at once deeply Nigerian and universally human. _________________________ Fadaka is a dynamic Nigerian performance collective dedicated to producing bold, socially relevant, and culturally rooted African stories.
